DoD grants the first-ever IL5 authorization to an agentic AI platform
The Pentagon authorized Salesforce Agentforce 360 at Impact Level 5 on Aug. 5 — the first time autonomous AI agents can handle Controlled Unclassified Information and certain unclassified NSS data. Army Human Resources Command is first live, covering ~9.2 million users. IL5 requires FedRAMP High plus 450+ DoD controls, US-persons-only access, and GovCloud isolation.
Why it matters: IL5 is now the proven bar for agentic AI in defense — and every one of those controls is a cleared-workforce requirement. The people who build, secure, and staff around this are in demand, not displaced.
